VLMS are on their way to power plants in the United Arab Emirates

MISTRAS Product & System Division has been awarded an order of four Valve Leak Monitoring Systems (VLMS) for nuclear power plants from a leading Korean power company. This is the first order of this kind that MISTRAS has been awarded to supply a complete system directly instead of supplying components as a subcontract. MISTRAS is excited to have joined the international nuclear power vendor supply chain.

These VLMSs will be installed in a nuclear plant in the United Arab Emirates. The first VLMS will be shipped in January 2015 and one each subsequent year until January 2018. The VLMS is a nuclear power plant certified on-line monitoring system with 92 Acoustic Emission channels; 46 valves in steam supplying system of each nuclear reactor will be monitored permanently to increase the safety of the nuclear power plant.
